An Analysis of Discourse Markers in the Audiovisual Translation

With the rapid development of globalization and Internet, audiovisual translation plays a vital role in overcoming linguistic cultural differences promoting cross-cultural exchanges. Audiovisual texts are special text types expressed through images sounds, which requires to synchronize with visual image sound create orality dubbed language. In order recreate naturally-occurring spontaneous-sounding text, due attention is paid discourse markers. This paper analyzes five strategies markers English-Chinese version animated film The Croods, including change personal pronoun, use sense verbs, conversion mental process, specific actions syntactic transformation. help reproduce naturalness dialogues while taking into account dubbing constraints.
